While you are off
Chasing after your
Beloved Darkness
I follow the Sun.

While you bend
And sway
To the rhythms 
Of past habits
And life’s
Addictions
I dance
Like David
Before the Lord.

While you Whisper
With your words
The form of Godliness
But deny it’s power
I speak God
To you.

And while you now
Exhaust yourself
Filling the broken vessel 
That is your heart
With empty words
Shallow conversation 
And whatever
Numbing agent you find
I pray for you.
